Fishbone - The Reality of My Surroundings

This album reminds me of Paul’s Boutique. It’s inarguably a brilliant, deeply felt and masterfully executed piece of late 20th century music of the people, so much so that it becomes almost overexecuted. It’s like it steps beyond music, and becomes abstracted, worked out in musical terms but feeling like a book, or perhaps an essay on language games in overwintering arctic communities. To be blunt, it’s not listening music, but music to think through.
